Travel to Angola
Angola offers a rare opportunity for travelers to explore a country largely untouched by tourism. Its landscapes and cultural heritage remain authentic and undisturbed, making it an ideal destination for those seeking off-the-beaten-track experiences.
Angola’s coastline stretches for over 1,600 kilometers, featuring places like the coastal cities of Benguela and Lobito. These towns present a blend of colonial history and local traditions, set against a backdrop of beaches and harbors. Further inland, Kalandula Falls is a powerful cascade of water flowing into the lush surrounding environment, offering a view of natural forces at work.
In the south, the Namib Desert extends into Angola, creating a stark and expansive landscape. Travelers can also visit Tundavala Gap, a cliffside escarpment near Lubango, which provides sweeping views of the plains below. Quiçama National Park, located near Luanda, is home to wildlife such as elephants and antelope and offers insights into conservation efforts in the region.
Angola’s capital, Luanda, is a hub where traditional markets and cultural influences meet modern development. The Miradouro da Lua, just outside the city, reveals an eroded landscape with unique formations, shaped by time and natural forces.
Traveling through Angola offers encounters with diverse communities and landscapes, including its rainforests, rivers, and savannas. The country is suited for travelers seeking an expedition-style journey with a focus on exploring the untouched and unknown. Angola remains one of the few destinations where true exploration and discovery are still possible.

Must Do in Angola
Each destination offers its own experiences and here are some "must do" activities to experience in Angola!
Best Time to visit Angola
Angola has two main seasons: the dry season (May to October) and the rainy season (November to April). The best time to visit depends on the type of experience you seek.
The dry season is ideal for wildlife viewing, especially in Quiçama and Iona National Parks, as animals gather around water sources. It’s also the best time for hiking at Tundavala Gap and Mount Moco, as trails remain accessible. Coastal regions, including Luanda, Benguela, and Cabo Ledo, enjoy mild weather, making beach activities and fishing more comfortable.
The rainy season transforms the landscapes, bringing lush greenery and full rivers, enhancing Kalandula Falls and the Kwanza River for scenic experiences. Birdwatching is particularly rewarding as migratory species arrive. However, some remote areas may be difficult to access.
For most travelers, May to October offers the most favorable conditions for exploring Angola’s diverse landscapes and outdoor activities.
