Far away from being a classic destination, the Central African Republic

offers some of the world's most unique attractions!

Lowland Gorilla Tracking

The country is home to the charismatic western lowland gorillas. Some groups have been habituated to receiving visitors, giving you the chance to meet these giants up close.

Nouabalé-Ndoki National Park

This dense tropical forest is home to a wide variety of mammals including lowland gorillas, forest elephants, red river hogs, buffaloes, bongos, giant forest hogs and many primates including chimpanzees.

Odzala-Kokoua National Park

The Dzanga Bai is a salt lick that measures 250 by 500 m. This clearing in the forest in the result of millenia of visits by the elephants, who have cleared the vegetation to create a unique show.

Life along the Sangha River

The Sangha River, one of the main tributaries of the Congo River, offers not only wildlife on its banks, but also the chance to meet the local people who live to the rhythm of this tranquil waterway.

Brazzaville & Congo River

Located in the north it is part of the UNESCO world heritage sites. Once threatened, today it offers fascinating wildlife adventures with a varied fauna and flora.

Meet the Ba'Aka People

The Ba'Aka people, often referred to as pygmies, are hunters-gatherers who share a strong identity with the tropical rainforest. Sharing time with their community will open a new world to you.

Overall, there are two areas of high rainfall in Africa - over 2,500 mm per year - and this part of the rainforest is one of them. In other words, expect rain at any time of the year!


Bear in mind that each season has its own particularities, and that a non-advised season may well correspond perfectly to your specific needs.
