Travel to Kenya
Kenya offers a variety of experiences, from wildlife encounters and coastal exploration to cultural and historical discoveries. In Nairobi, visitors can see wildlife at Nairobi National Park, interact with rescued elephants at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, and get close to giraffes at the Giraffe Centre. The Karen Blixen Museum provides insights into colonial history.
The Great Rift Valley stretches across the country, featuring lakes and escarpments. Lake Naivasha offers boat trips among birdlife, while Hell’s Gate National Park allows cycling and hiking. Amboseli National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park

Tsavo National Parks
The park is made up of two separate parks, Tsavo East and Tsavo West. It is Kenya's larg and one of the largest in the world. It covers vast landscapes, and is home to most of the larger mammals, including vast herds of dust–red elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard.
Nairobi National Park
Located just south of Nairobi's city center, the park spans 117 square km and was established in 1946. It is the world's only national park bordering a capital, it hosts lions, giraffes, and rhinos against the city's skyline, offering convenient game drives.
Samburu National Reserve
The Reserve borders the hot and arid lowlands of the vast northern region of Kenya. Alongside leopard and elephant, it is known for its arid plains and unique species like Grevy's zebra and reticulated giraffe, with the Ewaso Ng'iro River attracting diverse wildlife.
Lake Turkana & Sibiloi
Located on the wild shores of Lake Turkana – the cradle of mankind - Sibiloi is home to important archaeological sites. The area is characterized by semi-desert habitat and open plains flanked by volcanic formations including Mount Sibiloi, with remains of a petrified forest.
Mount Kenya
Africa's second-highest peak and an ancient extinct volcano. With its rugged glacier-clad summits and forested middle slopes, Mount Kenya is one of the most impressive landscapes in East Africa. It offers challenging treks through varied ecosystems.
Meru National Park
Home of "Elsa de Lioness", Meru sits in a less visited wilderness, surrounded by undiluted natural beauty. Remote, rugged and prominently unspoilt, it is wild and beautiful, straddling the equator and bisected by 13 rivers and numerous mountain-fed streams.
Diani Beach
A 15km strech of tropical paradise on the Indian Ocean with powdery white sand. The beach is protected by a shallow lagoon followed by a coral reef providing protection from the ocean. Islands also provide ideal conditions for relaxation and water sports.
Lamu Island
a Unesco World Heritage Site since 2001 and a centre of Swahili and Islamic culture for over 700 years, it delivers a superb ‘barefoot luxury’ experience. Expect great beaches, dazzling coral reefs, a wealth of activities, great cuisine and friendly, discreet service.
Hell's Gate National Park
Named for the its intense geothermal activity, the Park is a remarkable part of the Great Rift Valley. It boasts spectacular scenery including towering cliffs, water-gouged gorges, stark rock towers, scrub clad volcanoes and belching plumes of geothermal steam.
Lake Naivasha
Situated in the southern Great Rift Valley, this shallow freshwater lake, surrounded by extinct or dormant volcanoes and acacia woodlands, is famous for its high populations of hippos and flamingos. The Lake is a birder's paradise as it is home to over 400 bird species.
Aberdare National Park
Located in the southern part of the country, the Park offers beautiful mountain ranges covered by moorland, bamboo forests, and misty rain forests. It is home to elephants, leopards, and waterfalls like Karuru Falls, perfect for nature enthusiasts.
Malindi & Watamu
2 coastal towns north of Mombassa, sitting amid a string of tropical beaches. Both are known for their Marine National Park and Reserve. Sandy beaches and coral gardens are the defining features. Seabirds, as well as green and hawksbill turtles inhabit the area.
Kakamega Forest
The only tropical rainforest in Kenya is said to be Kenya's last remnant of the ancient Guineo-Congolian rainforest that once spanned the continent. The forest is teeming with a unique flora, fauna, and numerous bird species and offers a multitude of nature walks.
Mount Elgon & National Park
A massive solitary volcanic mountain on the border of eastern Uganda and parts of western Kenya. Its vast form is eighty kilometers in diameter and the Park features ancient caves, waterfalls, and diverse ecosystems, providing unique trekking experiences.

Best Time to visit Kenya
Kenya's climate varies across regions, offering diverse experiences throughout the year. Understanding its seasons can help you plan the ideal time for your visit:
The country has 2 Dry Seasons and 2 Rainy Seasons:
- June to October: This period is characterized by minimal rainfall and pleasant temperatures, making it optimal for wildlife viewing. The Great Migration reaches the Maasai Mara around July and August, providing spectacular safari opportunities.
- January to February: These months are typically dry and warm, offering excellent conditions for game drives and beach holidays along the Indian Ocean coast.
- March to May (Long Rains): This season brings heavy and prolonged rainfall, leading to lush landscapes but potentially challenging travel conditions. Some lodges may close, and wildlife can be more dispersed. However, this off-peak period offers fewer crowds and lower prices.
- November to December (Short Rains): Shorter, less intense rains occur during these months. While some afternoons may be wet, mornings are often clear, and the landscape is vibrant. This time can be ideal for birdwatching and enjoying fewer tourists.
Kenya's coastal regions, such as Mombasa and Lamu, experience a tropical climate with higher humidity and temperatures year-round. The cooler months from June to August offer a more comfortable beach experience.
Bear in mind that each season has its own particularities, and that a non-advised season may well correspond perfectly to your specific needs.
